Christ-mas in Barcelona

We went to Barcelona for a 6-day trip during the Christmas break. I was seriously impressed with the architecture of "La Sagrada Familia" by Antoni Gaudi. It represents the "Church of the Holy Family" and is definitely one of the greatest buildings in 20th Century. Unfortunately, Gaudi died in 1926 and left his work uncompleted (less than half of his work been accomplished). As shown in the photo, the building is still under construction and won't be completed for the next 80 years (gossh..take so long). Many Gaudi's architectures and works remain to be tourist hotspots in Barcelona.

There are people who had died and you think they are still alive; and there people who are living and you prefer them to be dead.

This churh is called Tibidabo Cathedral, built on the highest spot of Barcelona, overseeing the panaromic view of the entire city. "Tibi dabo" in Latin literally means "To you, I give". It depicts a story when Jesus was tempted by Satan (Satan tempted Jesus for the 3rd time -- He brought Jesus to Jerusalem and the highest part of the temple and told him to jump off. He said the angels would come and lift him up so that he wouldn't be hurt.) --- (Matthew 4:8-10)

Apparently, the statue standing on top of building with opened arm is Jesus Christ.

Finally, this cute-man standing beside me is my beloved eldest brother. He's been working in Spain for 6 months. It's really nice to meet with him in Spain. He drove all the way from Cartagena to Barcelona (7 hours drive) and bring us around. He will be back to Malaysia on early January --- cool, i wish i could go back with him for Chinese New Year !!!.

This photo was taken in Plaza Real.
